Character-Building Education: Millennial Response to the Challenges of the 21st Century

  

    Education must be linear. The more expert in one field, the more common person is in other field of knowledge. The birth of an isolated view, due to the habit of adapting to the customary rules of being educated in society. What is the educational model in which the development of knowledge is measured by our awareness of various fields of knowledge? 

  Education is directly related to school, but education is obtained not only at school, it can be from anywhere, without being limited by space and time. 

    According to Fraire, "Pedadogy Of The Oppressed" states that education creates authentic human beings. Education should not rely on measuring values quantitatively, where a person must be forced to continue to memorize the knowledge gained (banking education), but education should help humans to be able to consciously process their feelings and thoughts in dealing with problems or environmental conditions (problem-posing education). 

    It's better to learn and master a science that is in accordance with your passion than hundreds of knowledge that you don't even want and need in the reality of real life. As a result, students have difficulty determining their expertise, as well as a lack of emphasis on moral values and character in students. Reshaping the education system by focusing on teaching on basic skills, the ability to think intelligently, namely being able to indicate and formulate problems and then be able to find solutions to these problems. Giving an example of teaching according to the character and attitude of Pancasila values is not enough if teaching only with theory. Self-awareness and mutual respect and support for improvement efforts in daily life.

    Supporting #SustainableDevelopmentGoals emphasizes being able to strive to achieve sufficient and proper education. Various opinions from colleagues to be able to welcome the independent curriculum, and truly liberate all elements of society.

• Connecting the Dots

Regarding the problem of ability, it tends to be determined/specialized by each individual (multitasking). Experts in a field require qualified expertise in mastering supporting abilities.

• Res ipsa Loquitur, Let the thing speak, for itself.

Not symbolically link and match are absolutely correct. Related to mutualism to work together and can do the same goal. Interrelatedness and need.

• Specialization in economics

Humans are collaborative beings with personal benefits that Adam Smith put forward; invisible hand, and the importance of link and match, if there is no tailor (even though the tailor wants to be a singer) then there is no clothes, back to raw materials, back to the primitive communal era, independent and alone.

• The new curriculum "Freedom to Learn"

"If we really need to find something to blame,the problem is in the system, not in the link and match. Its nature is more towards applied science in education (pedagogy). Regarding education, the aim of education has changed to focus on literacy and numeracy.

    So the curriculum is not linear or non-linear, but what are the goals for students to achieve self-interest, not the school that determines what students should become (presented by the number of subjects that require KKM). However, schools can support and facilitate their students, who they want to be and what they want to be, with guidance and an inclusive approach.

"Actually, I don't agree with the standardization of KKM in Indonesia, because on the one hand, with the criteria; indirectly will make demands to be able to achieve it” – DA

"According to myself, KKM standardization is necessary because to develop a sense of enthusiasm to reap the results we are trying to achieve, and I'm sure, with KKM I can try even harder" - SA

"The current curriculum should need to be emphasized to be able to have an attitude and try to cultivate existing abilities and talents and have the potential for themselves" -YP

   Most students do not want to be forced on existing criteria, but without criteria, learning motivation is formed because of pressure, but not only about grades; but students are also enabled to be able to criticize the condition of Indonesian education for a better future. Without education, Indonesia will not be able to progress.

    Student independence is the success of a curriculum on how we can humanize humans, can work together to be able to lighten the same work. According to the government, the curriculum needs to be changed to accommodate students' current and future learning needs; relevant and able to make a visionary generation.
